In 1942, a community of parents and the Glencoe Board of Education worked together to establish Glencoe Junior Kindergarten and Nursery School (GJK), a preschool based upon “good modern educational methods.” Over seventy years later, GJK continues this journey as a vibrant preschool that is nationally recognized for exceeding the standards for early childhood education.
GJK is an independent, non-profit preschool dedicated to the individual and unique development of each child. We recognize children are ready to interact within a secure setting beyond the home, and we provide a warm and nurturing environment that stimulates and encourages the child to explore, create, imagine, and learn.
